Radio Upatyaka is established under the three decade social organisation Narayan Pariwar Club situated at Teku, Kathmandu. It is the first community radio in Kathmandu of its kind as it is owned and run by non-government non-profit organisation NPC. The radio has been actively producing programs in the fields of education,health, entertainment, culture, technology, environment, linguistics, handicaps, women and children programs related to the work field of its parent organisation.
Radio Upatyaka broadcasts at 87.6 megahertz with 500 watts, providing news, information, and entertainment to surrounding areas. Operated by the Narayan Pariwar Club, its slogan is "Communication for the Community."
